Shooting Sessions #2018 “Lone Tree Hill”

posted in: Shoots 0

Well, here we are into 2018 and what a better way to start the new year with a bit of Astrophotography!

I’ve often found myself driving on Richmond road passing this particular hill and thinking this would make an amazing place to do a shoot. Sure enough, the night of the “Blood Moon” Alex Wheeler and myself found an awkward park and ventured up this new hill towards this old dead tree remains, unaware there were other visitors already here, cows!  (Turns out they were extremely fast sheep)

With a vision of capturing the blood moon with this old tree as our supporting act, we quickly learned that during a “Blood Moon” you have extremely low light and made it next to impossible to capture the lone tree. We turned out attention to old faithful “The Milky way” bearing down on us and we were rewarded with a sight like no other.

The rest they say is history, I hope you continue to enjoy my work throughout 2018!
